MARC J. ATAS
Mr. Atas comes from a family of lawyers that has started from his Uncle Charles Atas who practiced law for 60 years, to his son Erik Atas and his Daughter in law Laura Atas. Marc Atas started to practice law in 1980.
Originally Marc Atas clerked for a boutique law firm and eventually went from clerk, to associate attorney and finally to partner. While working at that firm, I headed up their Workers Compensation department, and also handled auto accident, DWI, real estate and domestic cases.
After 9 years polishing my services at the boutique firm, I decided to open up my own office, The Law Office of Marc J. Atas. For 27 years, I worked tirelessly as the only lawyer providing personal services to each client. In 2017, I decided to merge my office and become the Law Office of Marc J. Atas And Associates, adding 2 new lawyers who are available to provide excellent legal services.
Mr. Atas graduated with honors of Cum Laude from the University OF Baltimore School of Law in 1980. During his Time at the University of Baltimore School of Law he was awarded membership in the prestigious Heuisler Honor Society a reward to students of the law school who have high and outstanding grades in recognition of his ability, application and scholarship. In additional he was awarded the American Jurisprudence Book award for excellent achievement in studies in the areas of debtor creditor relations and commercial transactions.
Mr. Atas has a member of the Baltimore City Bar Association, The Maryland Bar Association as well as The Maryland Association for Justice for over 37 years.
Mr. Atas practice area is concentrated in Workers Compensation, Automobile Accident Litigation and Criminal matters.
Mr. Atas grew up in Baltimore. He was a varsity athlete at Randallstown High School. Upon graduating from Randallstown, He attended The University of Maryland Baltimore County where he played varsity sports for 4 years and graduated with Honors. The Competitive nature that he developed and fine-tuned on the athletic field has followed him into the Courtroom and is one of the attributes that contributes to Mr. Atas’ success as an attorney.
Outside the office, Mr. Atas has been happily married to Sarah Atas, for 39 years, a pharmacist who owned Hunt Valley Pharmacy. As a result of their marriage they had 2 wonderful children, Joseph Atas a three time all American who attended Duke University and Erik Atas, a prominent criminal attorney who practices in Baltimore.

Michael E. Catterton
Michael Catterton is of counsel at The Law Office of Marc J. Atas and Associates, representing clients in workers’ compensation cases and personal injury matters. Mr. Catterton has tried numerous cases before the Maryland District and Circuit Courts and the Workers’ Compensation Commission. Mr. Catterton is affiliated with the Maryland State Bar Association and Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission.
Mr. Catterton has worked for the firm for the extent of his career, first joining the firm as a legal assistant in 2006 before later becoming an Associate after graduating from the University of Baltimore and being admitted to the bar. He was drawn to the practice of law in part due to his communication skills and passion for problem solving. Clients and colleagues describe him as a patient and personable attorney who is very capable of managing cases through challenges and achieving the most desirable outcomes.
He is originally from the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where he still spends much of his free time with friends and family. He is a married, proud father of one, and also an avid baseball fan who can often be found at Camden Yards rooting for his beloved Baltimore Orioles.
